Red Tree refurbished and reconfigured the facilities at Manchester Metropolitan University’s Platt Lane Sports Complex, combining the existing Gym and Laboratory to create a larger, more modern training environment.
The works included internal demolition, removal of ceilings, structural floor slab reinforcement, upgrades to mechanical and electrical services, new specialist gym flooring and full redecoration.
The facility is used by Manchester Metropolitan University students as well as elite sporting teams, including Manchester Thunder Netball, Sale Sharks Rugby, British Lacrosse and Rochdale AFC. Designed to support a demanding range of strength and conditioning activities, the refurbished gym provides a high-performance training environment for both aspiring athletes and professional sportspeople. The completed space has been highly praised by staff and users, continuing to support the University’s sporting community and elite athlete development.
