Blake Ward Seclusion Suite

The Blake Ward Seclusion Suite project at Laureate House, Wythenshawe Hospital, involved the extension and refurbishment of an existing seclusion room to create a larger, dedicated seclusion suite, including a lounge area and external garden. The works were delivered within a live mental health ward, with associated enabling works required to maintain the ward’s capacity throughout construction.

To facilitate the works, an existing quiet room was converted into a new bedroom, allowing the ward to continue providing care for seven service users while the seclusion suite was under construction. The completed suite included anti-ligature fencing, resin wall and floor finishes, a CoWin 32 media unit and sound system, alongside external works to create the new garden area.
