This new facility was designed to support the assessment of doctors’ clinical and communication skills, providing a high-quality environment that accurately replicates healthcare settings.

Located within the busy Spinningfields district, the project was undertaken in a fully occupied 16-storey commercial building. The completed facility comprises 17 mock consulting rooms, interview rooms, AV invigilator control centres, technical stores and supporting accommodation.

The scheme involved the installation of high-performance acoustic partitions, specialist glazed partition systems, extensive adaptations to the existing raised access flooring and ceiling systems, decoration, new flooring, acoustic wall panels, blinds and comprehensive mechanical and electrical alterations. The completed Clinical Assessment Centre provides a purpose-built environment that meets the specialist functional and acoustic requirements essential for clinical assessments while maintaining a high-quality finish throughout.

A detailed logistics strategy was developed and agreed with the building management team to coordinate deliveries, waste removal and contractor access through the shared loading bay, ensuring minimal disruption.

A key element of the project was achieving the stringent acoustic performance required within the assessment facility. Red Tree worked closely with the design team to refine the partition design and coordinate interfaces with the existing building fabric.

Through proactive planning, close stakeholder collaboration and meticulous coordination, Red Tree successfully delivered a technically complex fit-out within a live occupied building.
